What is a “fine art paper print”?
Fine art paper is a high quality, acid-free paper containing natural fibers (such as cotton) which allows for pigments and inks to adhere to long-term. Using high quality art paper for prints ensures the most authentic look possible.
What is “Giclee?”
Giclee (pronounced zhee-clay) is a method of fine art reproduction using high-quality printers.
How many prints do you make for each painting?
Each fine art paper print has a limited print run of 250 which means after the edition sells out, that print is retired and the painting is no longer reproduced.
Does your print come with a certificate of authenticity?
Yes, both limited edition prints and originals come with a certificate of authenticity. For the fine art paper prints, the certificate is adhered to the back of the print. For originals, the certificate is included separately.
Do your prints come with a mat?
Yes, all fine art paper prints come with a standard white 2” mat unless otherwise specified.
What sizes do your prints come in?
All prints are currently available in either 8” x 8” or 8” x 10” sizes depending on the piece. If you have a certain size frame at home or are interested in a different dimension than what is in stock, please e-mail info@brennaobrien.net to discuss a custom order that fits your needs.
How do you choose prices for your prints?
All prints are priced based on the time and materials spent creating the original piece as well as printing and labour costs of each print.
How do you ship your pieces?
All prints and originals are carefully secured with foam board, wrapped in archival paper and/or bubble wrap and packed into an appropriate box for shipping. All prices include shipping within Canada and the U.S. and $100 worth of insurance for incidentals. Pieces are shipped via Canada Post or United States Postal Service unless otherwise stated.
Do you do commissions?
