Nabbing one of these babies reminds me very much of when I was driving around from store to store trying to get my hands on a Nintendo Wii and similarly, the Switch. 

So, what makes the PS5 so special? Thanks to the custom 825GB SSD, it’s fast (like, really fast), the new DualSense controller is incredible and the graphics are extraordinarily realistic, to name a few. ]]><![CDATA[MY FALL GLAM MAKEUP]]>Sat, 03 Oct 2020 19:41:50 GMThttp://www.brennaobrien.net/blog/my-fall-glam-makeupOctober has arrived which means it’s time for sweaters, going for fall walks in the woods, pumpkin flavored everything and spooky movies. I love this time of year.

I thought I’d share a little video of how I like to do my makeup for fall using some of my favorite products. This is a glam look using lots of warm tones and bronzy glitter. If you know me, you’ll know that I have an OBSESSION with glitter eyeshadow and I incorporate a lot of pressed glitters into my makeup routine. Having said that, I do try to keep my makeup as wearable as possible, reserving the loose glitters, false lashes and heavy coverage foundations for a night on the town or a special event.

The traditions start on American Thanksgiving by watching the Macy's Day Parade and goes on every day leading up to Christmas by watching movies, driving around to look at Christmas lights, listening to Christmas music, decorating and sipping on eggnog. So it only seems natural to take some of my favourite holiday themed paintings and make Christmas cards! I've created three different ones to choose from so feel free to mix and match. These cities have so much colour and vibrancy that I can't help but paint them. But I've been asked by many people to paint some more of the city of Vancouver so here are a few. Sometimes you don't even see the intricate beauty that's right in front of you. There are many buildings and iconic sites in and around the city, hidden gems that are tucked away between state of the art towers, but if you look close enough, you can find them. Like the never changing entrance to Granville Island, the pristine Five Sails that greet the cruise ships as the enter the harbour, the big red 'W' that symbolized Woodward's Department Store and, the most famous street in Vancouver, Granville Street back in the 1960's. 
]]><![CDATA[Caesars Palace turns 50]]>Mon, 29 Aug 2016 19:30:57 GMThttp://www.brennaobrien.net/blog/caesars-palace-turns-50Congratulations to Caesars Palace Las Vegas as it turns 50 years old this year. That might not sound very old but in terms of Vegas hotels, it's old! Caesars is one of the few iconic hotel casinos still standing and I hope we get to see it celebrate another 50 years! 

]]><![CDATA[Bye Bye Riviera]]>Thu, 30 Jun 2016 20:19:43 GMThttp://www.brennaobrien.net/blog/bye-bye-rivieraAnother iconic hotel in Vegas has disappeared from the skyline. In June, the landmark Riviera Hotel was imploded. Many of the new hotels are beautiful and have so much to offer but I can't help feeling a little bit sad every time another "hot spot" from the 1950s and 1960s disappears. "The Riv" was home to Liberace for many years and, while the look of the hotel changed a lot over time, it was still, and always will be, one of the most famous resorts in Las Vegas. Here's to you, Riviera!
